Meeting at the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center (PSNC)

Our delegation met with Piotr Rydlichowski, representative of the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center (PSNC), affiliated with the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and a member of the eCAUSIS Security Advisory Board. The meeting took place on 22–23 January 2025 in Poznań.

The purpose of the visit was to gather insights into customer requirements and practical aspects of operating Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) devices within network infrastructures. Discussions covered:

  • findings from JTC22 WG3 and WG4 meetings (Berlin, 17.12.2025; online, 15.01.2025), including documentation and activity plans,
  • integration of the KMS system with QKD links in the PIONIER-Q network (e.g., Poznań–Warsaw link),
  • procedures for installation, integration, monitoring, and management of QKD links,
  • presentation of the HSM solution and its integration with KMS,
  • documentation, commissioning, and verification processes (switching, provisioning, calibration, and user-level accessibility),
  • practical requirements for QKD infrastructure from a telecom operator’s perspective (installation, integration, SLA, warranty, technical support),
  • environmental conditions for QKD device operation, including physical protection and synchronization.

The meeting provided valuable input on aligning QKD system development with operator-level requirements, ensuring that eCAUSIS solutions meet both technical and operational expectations.
